Have you heard? Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Merah, Choa Chu Kang and Queenstown have been identified as the latest batch of towns/ estates for the Remaking Our Heartland (ROH) programme.
Under ROH, you can look forward to a comprehensive rejuvenation of the town, including upgraded Town and Neighbourhood Centres, parks and more greenery, new community spaces, and enhancements to connectivity networks! Tell us what improvements you’d like to see here.

Since the programme was first launched in 2007, 9 towns/ estates across Singapore have been selected. These are Punggol, Dawson, and Yishun (Batch 1 in 2007); East Coast, Hougang and Jurong Lake (Batch 2 in in 2011); and Woodlands, Toa Payoh and Pasir Ris (Batch 3 in 2015).
Most of the plans for the first two batches of towns have been implemented, while works for the third batch of towns are currently underway.
Punggol Waterway
Punggol Waterway, an iconic landmark in the town, was part of the ROH plans to realise the vision of Punggol as a modern waterfront town. Today, homes, commercial spaces, and schools line its landscaped banks.
Whether it’s jogging along the waterway or taking in the scenic views of the landscaped promenade, the waterway is a popular destination for residents in Punggol and beyond!
Dawson (Batch 1)
SkyTerrace @ Dawson
Dawson estate in Queenstown is all about the greenery! The new-generation public housing projects there are set within a scenic park-like environment, bringing the estate’s ‘Housing-in-a-Park’ vision to life. SkyVille @ Dawson and SkyTerrace @ Dawson have been completed, while another 5 housing projects will be completed progressively by the end of 2020.
Jurong Lake (Batch 2)
Bukit Batok West Shopping Centre
Over the years, Jurong Lake area has been progressively transformed into a modern regional hub, with new and upgraded malls, medical facilities, and parks that offer residents added convenience. Neighbourhood centres like Bukit Batok West Shopping Centrehave also been upgraded, adding vibrancy for residents.
Pasir Ris (Batch 3)
Pasir Ris Hawker Centre
This seaside town now has its first ever hawker centre, which opened in 2018 in Pasir Ris Town Park. Apart from the traditional hawker fare, this hawker centre dedicates a whole level to ‘hipster’ food, offering something for the young, and the young-at-heart! In the coming years, residents can also look forward to a revamped and more vibrant town centre, a new public housing development by the park, and a revitalised park and beach.
Toa Payoh (Batch 3)

While Toa Payoh may be a pioneer HDB town, it has undergone constant renewal to ensure that its residents continue to enjoy a quality living environment. New BTO projects will come with new fitness corners and playgrounds. Residents can also look forward to improved cycling and walking networks and upgraded neighbourhood parks.
