For the October 2024 sales launch, about 8,500 BTO flats will be available across 9 towns – Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Bukit Batok, Geylang, Jurong West, Kallang/Whampoa, Pasir Ris, Sengkang, and Woodlands. These flats are spread across 15 projects, which are categorised as Standard, Plus, or Prime based on their location. The flats range from 2-room to 3Gen flats, providing options to suit different home buyers’ budget and needs. One of the Kallang/Whampoa projects will feature HDB’s pilot white flats layout, offering homebuyers the flexibility to create their own space.

The launch will also include flats in the highly anticipated Bayshore estate.

New Flat Classification

The new Standard, Plus, and Prime flat classification offers Singaporeans a wide range of flats to suit different budget, preferences, and needs. Standard flats come with the least restrictions and makes up the largest proportion of the BTO supply, while Plus and Prime flats will have higher subsidies but also comes with tighter restrictions. Increase in Enhanced CPF Housing Grant for First-Timers

If you are applying for a flat as a first-timer, you may be eligible for the Enhanced CPF Housing Grant (EHG) of up to $120,000 to help you with your BTO flat purchase. With the grant, you may pay as little as $142,000 for a 3-room Standard flat or $398,000 for a 4-room Plus flat using CPF contributions for your monthly mortgage payments, with little or no cash payment.

Singles can also receive a housing grant of up to $60,000, and starting from this sales launch, singles can now purchase a 2-room Flexi flat in all types of BTO projects islandwide.

Priority Schemes

Young married couples and parents with young children will enjoy priority under the First-Timer (Parents & Married Couples) (FTPMC) category, to help them secure a flat more quickly. If you do not fall under this category, you can also consider applying for a flat under one of the HDB priority schemes to improve your chances of getting a flat.

To prioritise and allocate flats to those with more pressing housing needs, the rules for non-selection have been tightened. So do consider carefully and book a flat when invited to do so.

Useful Tips for Flat Buyers

Before applying for your flat, you must have a valid HDB Flat Eligibility (HFE) letter.

It takes about a month or more during peak periods to process an HFE letter after HDB receives all the required documents. To participate in the October launch, you should have applied for an HFE letter and submitted all relevant documents by 15 September 2024. Applicants without a valid HFE letter would not be able to apply for a flat in this sales launch.

Do also note that:

  • Information on BTO flats on offer is available on HDB Flat Portal, where you can check out all the details and apply online. You do not have to visit HDB Hub to get the information.
  • You can only submit 1 application for 1 flat type and 1 location during each sales exercise.
  • To boost your chances of success, look out for projects with lower application rates. You can check the application rates on the HDB Flat Portal, which is updated several times a day throughout the application window.
  • Applicants are shortlisted via a computer ballot and not processed on a first-come-first-served basis. Just remember to submit your application before the end of the sales launch.
