The August Build-to-Order (BTO) sales launch is here, and there are 7,862 BTO units on offer that are located across 11 projects in 8 different towns! These towns are Choa Chu Kang, Tengah, Woodlands, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Geylang, Pasir Ris, and Tampines.
Do note that some projects could take longer to complete due to the calibrated restart of construction activities and the requirement for building contractors to adhere to strict safe management measures to prevent a resurgence of COVID-19 at construction sites.
The application portal is open from 12 to 18 August 2020. Here is a summary of everything you need to know before making a decision!

*The starting prices of flats in the table above are based on 99-year leases. For illustration purposes, the assumed Enhanced CPF Housing Grant (EHG) amounts are:
- 2-room Flexi flat: $80,000
- 3-room flat: $75,000 in non-mature towns and $60,000 in mature towns
- 4-room flat: $60,000 in non-mature towns and $45,000 in mature towns
- 5-room flat: $45,000 in non-mature towns and $30,000 in mature towns
The actual grant amount received will depend on the buyers’ income and eligibility.
Grants and Priority Schemes
Buyers with a household income of up to $14,000 can buy BTO flats. Eligible first-timer families can also receive up to $80,000 of housing grants. Read more about the HDB priority schemes to better your chances of getting a flat.
Flexi Flats
Your eligibility for a 2-room Flexi flat is determined after taking into account factors such as your age, the lease tenure, and whether buyers are first-timers, second-timers, or others.
Useful Tips for Flat Buyers
Before you submit your flat application, do read up more on the flat buying process and take note of the following tips:
- Information on the BTO flats on offer is available on HDB InfoWEB so you can check out all the details and apply online. You do not have to visit HDB Hub to get the information.
- If you do not have Internet access, do try to seek support from family and friends instead of visiting HDB Hub or Branches. Those who need assistance, especially seniors, may call the HDB Sales/ Resale Customer Service Line at 1800 – 866 3066 for assistance.
- Consider applying for a BTO flat in non-mature towns to enjoy a higher chance of success in securing a flat
- You can only apply for flat type/ category in 1 town
- Regular updates on the application numbers for the various flat types/ towns will be published on the HDB InfoWEB, so do check for updates before submitting your application
- If you wish to take up an HDB housing loan for your flat purchase, a valid HDB Loan Eligibility (HLE) Letter is required when you book a flat. Do check your loan eligibility and apply for an HLE letter.
Applicants are shortlisted using a computer ballot; they are not processed on a first-come-first-served basis. So there is no need to rush to submit your application!
Choa Chu Kang (Non-Mature Town)
There are plenty of amenities near this project, such as eateries (kopitiam and even McDonalds!), clinics, a pharmacy, and even a supermarket located at the foot of the HDB blocks right across the street. The famous military-themed playground located at Keat Hong Mirage is also just a 5-minute walk away. If you love nature and the outdoors, the nearby parks and park connectors will appeal to you too.

Tengah (Non-Mature Town)
The future of green and smart living is in Tengah. One of the major upcoming attractions is a 100-metre wide and 5km long Forest Corridor. This corridor is also a rich forest habitat that will connect the Western Water Catchment Area and Central Catchment Nature Reserve. Other ‘green’ features in Tengah include spaces for community gardening and urban farming.
This town is also where the use of autonomous vehicles will be piloted to provide residents convenient first-mile-last-mile connection to key transport nodes and amenities. The upcoming Jurong Region Line and bus services will also serve the public transport needs of residents.
Commercial facilities for Tengah are being planned, to complement other shopping and dining options in nearby Bukit Batok town.

Woodlands (Non-Mature Town)
Woodlands is home to many green spaces, including Admiralty Park, Vista Park, Treehaus Park, and the Woodlands Park Connector. Shopping, dining, and entertainment options also abound. In 2017, HDB announced major plans to rejuvenate Woodlands under the Remaking Our Heartland (ROH) programme. If you buy a flat in the town, you can look forward to exciting developments such as a 1.9km long community link connecting Woodlands Central and the Woodlands Waterfront, Marsiling Park, and an integrated healthcare complex called the Woodlands Health Campus.

Ang Mo Kio (Mature Town)
Mayflower station, part of the Thomson-East Coast Line, is slated to open later this year. The MRT station is just a 5-minute walk from this BTO project, providing easy access for you to reach other parts of Singapore.

The focus of the Pasir Ris ROH is to turn the town into an ‘Urban Sanctuary’ with upgraded park spaces, better walking and cycling paths, and homes close to parks. In fact, this particular project is located right next to Pasir Ris Park!
It is also in close proximity to the Pasir Ris central area, which has a mall, library, sports centre, a bus interchange, and train station. There will also be an upcoming integrated development which will add to the convenience for you.
